Laura Berlage

Ancient Ballads

Traditional Child Ballads
and original compositions in that style will captivate your interest and
take you back to the time of castles and knights. Tom’s philosophy with
traditional music is – the older, the better! It’s really cool to sing,
or listen to, a song that you know somebody sang 500 years ago!
Heartistry Music showcases new acoustic performers from the
Lake Superior region.
These consummate musicians’  delicate vocal arrangements and clear warm harmonies set them apart from almost all other groups in the contemporary acoustic music scene.  Most are multi-instrumentalists and strong vocalists with extensive performing and recording backgrounds and performance credits.  Instrumentation may include guitar, fiddle, bass, whistle, bodhran, autoharp, banjo, and folk harp, and their musical styles range from traditional Appalachian to Celtic to Swing.
Kids On The Mountain CD

Appalachian Old Time /
Kids AND Adults

If you like Appalachian Old Time music, we have something for you, too. So, did this music make it up to the Lake Superior
region? You bet! Crandon, Wisconsin was settled by folks from Kentucky.
Tom is a native of North Carolina (it’s in his blood…), and has been characterized by (get this) a lutenist, as being “…a really good banjo player…”, and a darned good fiddler, too. So, if you like Old Time music in the style
of Red Clay Ramblers or Doc Watson, this site is for you.
